The Harborvale is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our newly reimagined, one-of-a-kind property located in downtown Burlington, Vermont set on the shores of Lake Champlain. The Harborvale’s story is inspired by the wonder and sense of place that Lake Champlain provides; the adventure of fresh experiences, the opportunity to reminisce about fond memories while creating new stories to share. Food and beverage is essential to the guest experience at The Harborvale, whether for slow mornings, golden evenings or everything in between, enjoying meals and drinks in the Living Room of The Harborvale.
We are looking for a hospitality professional with a strong food and beverage service background, including deep knowledge of food styles and preparation, coffee, cocktails, wine and – most importantly – a love of hosting people.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Restaurant Manager at The Harborvale will bring their experience of exceptional service, careful team building, understanding of finances, skills to organize large and small events, and ability to celebrate the extraordinary guest connections to our team to enhance what this property is known for.
In this role, you will engage in a manner that reflects the individuality of The Harborvale. You’ll cultivate a culture of warmth and excellence, creating memories that embody a sense of wonder, a hint of nostalgia, and a spark of adventure.
Core Responsibilities:
• Manages and supports breakfast, lunch, dinner, bar, and banquet service teams and banquet teams
• Ensures The Harborvale standards are followed, and all team members are consistently well informed of and trained in all Marriott International standards and inspections including up to date on all online training, GSFA audits, and BSA Health Checks
• Assist Managing guest relations, communicates with guests on any needs/issues, and maintains follow-through to ensure high satisfaction
• Assist Managing costs in accordance with the budget
• Maintains required par levels of all beverage and front of house service items
• Assist the manager with all reporting and training in Toast POS and RESY
• Assist in performing POS changes for all menus/pricing/programming in Toast
• Assist overseeing and make necessary adjustments to guest reservation system (RESY)
• Establishes and maintains vendor relationships
• Assist in training, coaching, works alongside, and helps to grow team members
• Conducts daily pre-shift meetings
• Provides ongoing training and education related to food and beverages with regular tastings and discussion
• Communicate effectively with guests, team members and other departments
• Works with the Banquet department to ensure the proper set up, coordination and execution of banquets
• Assist with the schedule of all FOH team members and assist with payroll within ADP
• Assist calculating weekly tip pool disbursements, working with the accounting team to ensure accuracy
• Ensures all F&B public spaces are clean and in good condition, and works with the Restaurant Manager and maintenance to make necessary repairs and upgrades
• Ensures in-house training is completed for all team members
• Ensures all team members have proper State alcohol service training
• Attend weekly staff and BEO meetings when the Restaurant Manager is not available
• Assists in the hiring efforts and works with human resources to complete the new hire process
• Participation in Manager on Duty coverage as needed
• Provide a positive, motivating, and communicative environment for our team members

We offer competitive wages and benefits. The expected salary range for this position is $60,000–$70,000, based on experience and qualifications.
